Question 126534This question is from textbook introductory Algebra
: I am asked to solve and plot the x and y intercept. 2y=9
I know this how to solve for y
2y diveded by 2= nine divided by 2
2y/2=9/2
Will give me a solution of y= nine divided by 2
Solution for Y=9/2
I would plott Y on the graph as (0,9/2)
I dont underderstand how do I solve for x when there is no x given in 2y=9?

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
2y+=+9
y+=+9%2F2
What this says is: "I am a line that does not care what the value of
x is, but where ever I find myself on that line, I see
that y+=+9%2F2"
The line that satisfies those conditions is parallel to the x-axis
and intersects the y-axis at (0,9/2) The slope is 0
You can write it as y+=+0%2Ax+%2B+%289%2F2%29 This shows that
the slope = 0 and the y-intercept is 9/2
