You can put this solution on YOUR website!
There are two pieces in the end. But they must add to 18 ft long. Say the shorter piece is x ft. Then the longer piece is (x+4) ft. So x+x+4=18. So 2x+4=18, so 2x=14, so x=7. That means x+4=11. So one is 7 ft long, the other is 11 ft long.
