You can put this solution on YOUR website! 7<3x-8<19 The goal in algebra is to get the x all by itself on one side of the equation (or in this case the inequality)
 1. Add 8 to all sides:
 15 < 3x < 27
 2. Divide everything by 3:
 5 < x < 9
Answer: the set of numbers [6,7,8]
 3. Check (pick a number between 5 and 9 and substitute into the original
 inequality - Let's use 6):
 7 < 3(6)- 8 < 19
 7 < 18 - 8 < 19
 7 < 10 < 19 = true
*Check for yourself using 7 or 8
