If I invested $10,000, part at 15% and part at 14%.
If the total interest at the end of the year is $1430, how much did I invest at 15%?

You can put this solution on YOUR website! .15x+.14(10,000-x)=1,430
.15x+1,400-.14x=1,430
.01x=1430-1400
.01x=30
x=30/.01
x=3,000 invested @ 15%.

.15*3,000+.14(10,000-3,000)=1,430
450+.14*7,000=1,430
450+980=1,430
1,430=1,430
