My name is Lauren and I have a quick question that I really need help with please....
On my worksheet, there is a Punnett Square. And Inside the Punnett Square is; XX, XY, XX, XY in each square starting from top to bottem. (4 Spaces).
The following questions that I REALLY need help with are these;
1) What is the probability that the child will be a boy?
2) What is the probability that the child will be a girl?
3) Which parent above determines the sex of the child?
I tried my best answering these questions according to the Punnett Square, but I just didn't do it correctly & didn't understand it. Can you Really PLEASE help me?

A girl has the chromosome XX and a boy has XY.
For qn 1, the answer is 1/2 because all the XX squares (2 of them out of 4) are shaded.
Same for qn 2, probability is also 1/2 because all the XY squares (2 out of 4) are shaded.
For qn 3, the father will determine the sex of the child because the father has both the X and Y in his chromosome while the mother has both XX. The mother always gives a X to the child but the father can either give X or Y, thus determining the sex of the child.
