x+-+2y+=+18 Add 2y to both sides of the =.
x+-+2y+%2B+2y+=+18+%2B+2y
x+=+2y+%2B+18 That's it!

18/2 = 9
so Y=9 and x= 36.
'cuz 36 - 18 = 18
