You can put this solution on YOUR website!
The general equation of a straight line is
y+=+mx+%2B+b where m is the slope
and b is the y-intercept
I know the slope, m+=+3 and a certain point P(-4, -17)
-17+=+3%2A%28-4%29+%2B+b
solve for b
-17+=+-12+%2B+b
b+=+-5
The equation is
y+=+3x+-+5 answer

Write the equation of the line that passes through point (–4, –17) with a slope of 3.
--------------
Line form is y = mx + b
You are given x,y and m; solve for b:
-1 = 3*-4 + b
b = 11
--------
EQUATION:
y = 3x + 11
