Question 123784: Can you tell me if I am working this problem correctly. I am simplifing the expression, using only positive exponents in my answer.
%28x%5E-2%29%2F%28%28x%5E-2%29-%28y%5E-2%29%29
I make the exponent positive by doing this %281%2Fx%5E2%29%2F%28%281%2Fx%5E2%29-%281%2Fy%5E2%29%29
Next I find that my LCD =x%5E2y%5E2
By multiplying all numerators by x%5E2y%5E2 and canceling out where possible, I come up with a final answer of y%5E2%2F%28%28y%5E2%29-%28x%5E2%29%29

Am I correct with my steps and final answer? Thanks for your help in advance!

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
%28x%5E-2%29%2F%28%28x%5E-2%29-%28y%5E-2%29%29
%281%2Fx%5E2%29%2F%28%281%2Fx%5E2%29-%281%2Fy%5E2%29%29
LCD+=+x%5E2y%5E2

%281%2Fx%5E2%29%2F%28%28y%5E2+-+x%5E2%29%2Fx%5E2y%5E2%29%29.........multiply outer and inner terms
x%5E2y%5E2%2F%28y%5E2+-+x%5E2%29.........
x%5E2y%5E2%2F%28y+-x%29%28y%2Bx%29.........
