You can put this solution on YOUR website!
5%2F8+%28-17%2F12%29
(5%2F8)(3%2F3)+%28-17%2F12%29(2%2F2)
15%2F24+%28-34%2F24%29
15%2F24-34%2F24
-19%2F24

5/8+(-17/12). TO do this problem you have to use order of operstion (PEMDAS) or should I say Please Excues my dear aunt sally (Parentasis, Exponets, multipacation, Division, Adition, Subtraction)
There for. 5/8 +(-17/12) So there fore according to PEMDAS. I have to do -17/12 first. which equals to -1.4.
Next, 5/8+(-1.4) So there for we multiply. 5/8x-1.4. WHich eqauls to .875.
So therefore your problem eqauls to .875
