You can put this solution on YOUR website!
3x+12=5x-10 Move x on the same side of the equal sign and the sign changes.
3x-5x=-12-10 Move the number to the other side of the equal sign and change the sign.
-2x=-22 x(-1) on both sides of the equal sign.
x=11

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Solve for x:
3%28x%2B4%29+=+5%28x-2%29 First, apply the "distributive property"
3x%2B12+=+5x-10 Now subtract 3x from both sides.
12+=+2x-10 Then add 10 to both sides.
22+=+2x Finally, divide both sides by 2.
11+=+x
Check:
3%28x%2B4%29+=+5%28x-2%29 Substitute x = 11.
3%2811%2B4%29+=+5%2811-2%29 Simplify.
3%2815%29+=+5%289%29
45+=+45 OK!
