You can put this solution on YOUR website! let x = price for package of balloons let y = price for package of favors
translatingthe given into equation, we get 2 equations:
 (eq.1) 3x + 4y = 14.63
 (eq.2) 2x + 5y = 16.03
since we are looking for x, we will eliminate y by multiplying eq.1 by 5 and
eq.2 by 4 so as to get 20x each,
 (eq.1) (3x + 4y = 14.63) * 5
 (eq.2) (2x + 5y = 16.03) * 4,
 (eq.1) 15x + 20y = 73.15
 (eq.2) 8x + 20y = 64.12
subtracting eq.2 from eq.1, bwe get:
7x = 9.03 (divide both equations by 7, we get:)
x = $1.29 price for package of balloons
