One number is twice another number. If the 12 subtracted from the larger number the result is 7 more than the smaller number. Find the numbers
-------------------
Let the smaller number be "x". Then the larger is "2x".
EQUATION:
2x-12 = x+7
x = 19
2x=38

Looky here,"One number is twice another number"
If the difference is 7 when 12 is subtracted, then 19 is the total amount between the lowest and biggest number and since x(the lower number) is equal to 2x(the bigger number) then, (x=19 and 2x=38) <- your solutions.

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Let the number be "x"
And twice the number be "2x"

According to the information given, it says

12 - 2x = 7 + x

12 - 7 = 3x

5 = 3x

x = 5/3

Therefore, 2x = 10/3

thus, the solution is:

x = 5/3 and 10/3

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
x=2y
x-12=7+y
2y-12=7+y
y-12=7
y=19
x=2*19
x=38
