You can put this solution on YOUR website! (x+5)^3/2 = 8 :
 First, square both sides that gets rid of the denominator in the exponent
 [(x+5)^3/2]^2 = 8^2
 :
 (x+5)^3 = 64
 :
 Find the cube root of both sides, (4 is the cube root of 64)
 x + 5 = 4
 :
 x = 4 - 5
 :
 x = -1
 :
 :
 Check solution in original equation, substitute -1 for x
 (-1+5)^ 3/2 = 8
 4^(3/2) = 8
 Find the cube of 4 which is 64, then find the square root of 64
 8 = 8
