7x + 1 < 4(x - 2)
7x+1<4x-8
Subtract 4x from each side:
7x-4x+1<4x-4x-8
3x+1<-8
Subtract 1 from each side:
3x+1-1<-8-1
3x<-9
Divide by 3:
x<-3
