3/4b-3/4b-1/2=5/8b-3/4b
So you are left with; -1/2=5/8b-3/4b; to add the fractions together you need to find the LCD; -1/2=5/8b-6/8b; -1/2=-1/8b
Now you want to multiply each side by the inverse of 1/8, which is 8/1;
-1/2(8/1)=-1/8b(-8/1), that cancels out the 1/8 from the b, leaving b by itself.
-1/2(-8/1)=b
