y^2-12y+20 /y-2
Factor to get:
= [(y-2)(Y-10)]/(y-2
= y-10
=========================================
2x^2+7x+3 / 2x+1
Factor to get:
= [2x^2+6x+x+3]/(2x+1)
= [2x(x+3)+(x+3)]/(2x+1
= [(x+3)(2x+1)]/(2x+1)

Are you sure that denominator is not 2x+1 ?

Well, you say it is 2x+1 so you can cancel the 2x+1 in numerator and denominator to get:
= x+3
=================
