Find the nat log of both sides:
ln(x) = ln(e^-7.85)
:
Use the log equivalent of exponents
ln(x) = -7..85*ln(e)
:
We know nat log of e is 1 so we just have:
ln(x) = -7.85
:
Find the anti log of -7.85, that's e%5Ex on the calculator
x = 3.897519683 E -4 is the solution from my calc
:
You can see that it could be written in scientific notation
x = 3.90*10^-4
