You can put this solution on YOUR website!

given:
let numbers be x and y, and x%3Ey
then x-y+=72
and x+=+7y%2B6
to find:x and y

x-y+=72....=>.... x+=+72+%2B+y
x+=+7y%2B6........substitute x
72+%2B+y+=+7y+%2B+6........
72+-+6+=+7y+-+y........
66+=+6y+........
66%2F6+=+y+........
+y+=+11+........

x+=+72+%2B+y.........substitute y
x+=+72+%2B+11.........
x+=+83.........

the numbers are:
83 and 11

The difference of two numbers is seventy-two, and if the larger number is divided by the smaller number, then the quotient is seven and the remainder is six. Find the numbers.
-------------
Let one of the numbers be "x"; Then the other is "x+72".
EQUATION:
(x+72)/x = 7 + 6/x
(x+72) = 7x +6
6x = 66
x = 11 (the smaller number)
x+72= 83 (the larger number)
