Question 1208440: Hi!
How to solve a math problem if agnes had 135 balloons there were 3 times as many blue balloons as green, twice as many blue balloons as green balloons and some purple balloons. When 12 balloons burst, there were 1/3 as many green as purples left. Find the total number of purple and green balloons Agnes had at first. What math rule should be applied in solving this type of problems?
Thank very much in advance!

The first rule is that the problem should be presented correctly.

When one part of the problem says  " there were 3 times as many blue balloons as green "

while the other part says  " twice as many blue balloons as green balloons ",

then it is difficult to consider a post as a correct presentation of a Math problem.

It is much better to write slowly and correctly, than fast and incorrectly.
