You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Two different expressions both are equal to 78 dollars.
v for Vivian
b for her brother

2v%2F3=78=3b%2F5
.
.
seems Vivian started with 117 and her brother started with 130 dollars.

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Vivian and her brother had some money.

Suppose Vivian had V dollars and her brother had B dollars.

After spending 2/5 of his B dollars, her brother had B-(2/5)B = (3/5)B = 78 dollars left.

expr%283%2F5%29B=78
3B=390
B=130

Vivian spent 1/3 of her V dollars and had V-(1/3)V = (2/3)V, the same amount of
money as her brother, which was 78 dollars. So

expr%282%2F3%29V=78
2V=234
V=117

So in the beginning, Vivian had $117 and her brother had $130.
