An equivalent equation is

    3x + 8 = 2%5E5,

or

    3x + 8 = 32.

It immediately implies that

    x = %2832-8%29%2F3 = 24%2F3 = 8.

Rule: log%28b%2C%28x%29%29+=+y is equivalent to x+=+b%5Ey
b is the base of each

Using that rule we can go from log%282%2C%283x%2B8%29%29+=+5 to 3x%2B8+=+2%5E5
