Juice has to be mixed in the ratio 1 part concentrate to 4 parts water. If 20 litres of juice are mixed, how much concentrate and water are needed? Answer by ikleyn(52802) (Show Source):
Juice concentrate is fruit juice in liquid form
from which most of the water has been extracted.
20 liters is the total volume of the mixture.
It consists of 1 part of juice and 4 parts of water (equal parts by volume).
In all, there are 4+1 = 5 equal parts; so each part is 20/5 = 4 liters.
Thus, 4 liters of juice and 4*4 = 16 liters of water are used. ANSWER
