Just saw that her brother is 3 years older, not 3 years old.
Dorcas' age: 12
Brother's age: 12 + 3 = 15
Ratio of Dorcas' age to her brother's age: 12:15 = = 4:5
With MULTIPLICATIVE factor being x, Dorcas and her brother will get 12x and 15x, respectively
Total amount: 12x + 15x = 27x
We then get: 27x = 450
