Formula for the surface area of a cylinder is:
A=2%28pi%29r%5E2%2B2%28pi%29rh
You are given r and h, so just plug and chug:
A=2%28pi%29%283%5E2%29%2B2%28pi%29%283%29%288%29
Simplifying:
A=2%28pi%29%289%29%2B2%28pi%29%2824%29
A=18%28pi%29%2B48%28pi%29
A=66%28pi%29
You can plug that into your calculator to get a numerical answer. Don't forget to round it off.
