Let x be the number of children who used the pool. The daily prices are $1.25 for children
The receipts from children = 1.25x
y be the number of adults who used the pool . $2.50 for adults.
Receipts from adults will be 2.50y
Total receipts was $698.75 
1.25x+2.50y= $698.75 ------------------(1)
359 people used the public swimming pool.
x+y=359--------------------------------------(2)
multiply by 1.25
1.25x+1.25y = 1.25*359
1.25x+1.25y=448.75 subtract (1) from this equation
1.25x+2.50y= $698.75
-1.25y =-250
y= 200 adults used the pool
Remaining were children 359-200 = 159
