Question 1204751: The total cost (in dollars) of producing x food processors is C(x) = 2500 + 80x - 0.3x^2
a) Find the exact cost of producing the 81st food processor.
b) Use the marginal cost to approximate the cost of producing the 81st food processor.

Can you please help me with this homework question by showing the step-by-step calculations? I tried figuring it out on my own without any help but I couldn't find the answer. I got stuck!

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
.

To answer question (a), you need calculate C(81) - C(80).

For it, calculate first C(81) by substituting x= 81 into the given formula

    C(81) = 2500 + 80*81 - 0.3*81^2.

Next, calculate C(80) by substituting x= 80 into the given formula

    C(80) = 2500 + 80*80 - 0.3*80^2.

Having C(81) and C(80), find their difference C(81)-C(80), which will be your answer to question (a),
if you manage to make calculations correctly.

Do not tell me your story on how difficult it is, because it is NOT difficult.

In opposite, it is easy.
