You can put this solution on YOUR website!
i believe your answer will be selection D (2000 ml of 5% alcohol.

here's how i analyzed it.

you have 143 ml of 70% alcohol.
this gives you .7 * 143 = 100.1 ml of alcohol.

you add 143 ml of the solution plus 1857 ml of ewater to get a total solution of 2000 ml.

of this total solution of 2000 ml, 100.1 ml is alcohol.
the ratio of alcohol to total solution is equal to 100.1 / 2000 = .05005.
multiply this by 100 to get 5.005%.
round this to the nearest percent to get 5%.

that's why i picked selection D.

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
the amount of PURE alcohol divided by the TOTAL VOLUME, multiplied by 100 for the percent. (That is, assuming the percents used are in their decimal fraction form).

If you mix 143ml of 70% alcohol with 1857ml of distilled water, the result would yield to.
---------------------------------
If you mix V ml of A % alcohol with D ml of distilled water, the result would yield to.
