Question 1204544: An object hangs from a spring in a stable equilibrium position at a height of 5 feet, the spring is pulled 3 feet downward and the object begins to oscillate, making one complete oscillation every 4 seconds. What is a sinusodial equation of the motion of the object. Assume that the object starts at the point of equilibrium.

An object hangs from a spring in a stable equilibrium position at a height of 5 feet, the spring is pulled
3 feet downward and the object begins to oscillate, making one complete oscillation every 4 seconds.
What is a sinusodial equation of the motion of the object. Assume that the object starts at the point of equilibrium.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Two parts of this post contradict each other.
One part says that the object begins to oscillate when the springs is pulled 3 feet from equilibrium position.
Other part instructs a reader to assume that the object starts at the point of equilibrium.
I can't solve problems, where one part of the condition contradicts to other part.
