You can put this solution on YOUR website!

given that:
the number of foul shots = 12
the umber she missed = 8
the number of foul shots = 125

let the number of shots be x

x%2F125=12%2F%2812%2B8%29
x%2F125=12%2F20
x%2F125=3%2F5
x=%283%2F5%29%2A125
x=3%2A25
x=75

she made 75 shots

You can put this solution on YOUR website!

Method 1

x = number of shots made
125-x = number of misses

makes/misses = 12/8
makes/misses = 3/2
x/(125-x) = 3/2
2x = 3(125-x)
2x = 375-3x
2x+3x = 375
5x = 375
x = 375/5
x = 75

--------------------------------------------------

Method 2

Ratio of makes to misses is 12:8, which reduces to 3:2
Let k be some positive integer to get the new equivalent ratio 3k:2k

3k = number of makes
2k = number of misses
3k+2k = 5k = total number of foul shots
5k = 125
k = 125/5
k = 25

Therefore,
3k = number of makes = 3*25 = 75
2k = number of misses = 2*25 = 50

As a check, 75 makes + 50 misses = 125 foul shots total.

--------------------------------------------------

Method 3

12 makes + 8 misses = 20 shot attempts total.
Her shooting percentage from the free-throw line is 12/20 = 0.60 = 60%

60% of 125 shots total = 0.60*125 = 75 makes

Answer: 75
