You can put this solution on YOUR website!

x = number of laps she runs
6x = number of total minutes she runs
total time < 42
6x < 42
6x/6 < 42/6
x < 7

She ran less than 7 laps today.
If x is a positive integer, then it can be selected from the set {1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6}
x = 7 is not part of the list

1 lap = 6*1 = 6 minutes
2 laps = 6*2 = 12 minutes
3 laps = 6*3 = 18 minutes
4 laps = 6*4 = 24 minutes
5 laps = 6*5 = 30 minutes
6 laps = 6*6 = 36 minutes
7 laps = 6*7 = 42 minutes

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
To the solution by the other tutor, I want to add that 0 (zero) laps is also a possible solution,
which is NOT EXCLUDED by the condition and should be, therefore, included to the list of possible solutions.
Also, the natural order of words in your post is violated, making strange impression.
If it takes her 6 minutes to run each lap, then the total time to run x laps is 6x minutes. We are told that the number of minutes she ran is less than 42:
6x+%3C+42
x+%3C+7
Nothing in the statement of the problem says the number of laps has to be an integer....
ANSWER: less than 7
Of course, a negative number of laps makes no sense, so the answer x%3C7 is not COMPLETELY correct mathematically. The better answer is probably 0%3C=x%3C7.
