The problem as posted, with the numbers shown, does not have a reasonable answer. Although it is unfortunately quite likely that you have shown the problem as it was given to you, check your post to see if you have shown the correct information.
If you did not post the problem correctly, then re-post with the right numbers.
Otherwise, the problem has the following unreasonable solution.
Use the given ratio to set up the problem with Bob, Ted, and Alice having amounts 6x, 2x, and 5x initially. Then after Bob gives Alice $20, the amount Bob would have will be 6x-20, and the amount Alice will have is 5x+20. We are told that then Alice would have 225% more money than Ted:
5x+20 = 2x + 2.25(2x)
5x+20 = 2x+4.5x
5x+20 = 6.5x
20 = 1.5x
x = 20/1.5 = 40/3
Then the total amount shared among the three of them would be
6x+2x+5x = 13x = 13(40/3) = 520/3
An amount of "520/3 dollars" is not reasonable....
