You can put this solution on YOUR website! amy has agreed to pay 30% of the usual price of the camera.
betty would pay 2/5 of the remaining amount.
casey will pay the rest.
at the shop, the price of the camera had incresed by 25% of its usual price.
as a result, amy paid $255 for the camera.
since amy agreed to pay 30% of the usual price of the camera, then the usual price of the camera would have to have been 255/.3 = 850.
since the usual price of the camera was increased by 25%, then the new price of the camera had to be 850 * 1.25 = 1062.5.
subtract 255 from that to get a remaining new price of 807.5.
betty agreed to pay 2/5 of the remaining price = 2/5 * 807.5 = 323.
807.5 minus 323 = 484.5.
HOW MUCH EACH PAID
AMY (0.3)p
BETTY (2/5)(1.25p-0.3p)
CASEY 1.25p-(0.3)p-(2/5)(1.25p-0.3p)
Total 1.25p
Description seems imprecise. Most of it does not force any change. Expecting that the actual price for camera is not p,
but is to be 1.25p. Description clearly said, Amy pay 30% of the usual price. Effect of this from actual price not important.
