Your car can drive 360 miles on a tank of 22 gallons.
Question 1: How far can it drive on 50 gallons?
Round your answer to the nearest mile.

mpg = miles per gallon
mpg = (distance traveled)/(number of gallons used)
mpg = (360 miles)/(22 gallons)
mpg = 16.3636 approximately
Side note: According to the EPA, the average fuel rating for cars made in the year 2020 is about 25.4 mpg

Then we can say
mpg = (distance traveled)/(number of gallons used)
distance traveled = (mpg rating)*(number of gallons)
distance traveled = (16.3636 mpg)*(50 gallons)
distance traveled = 818.18 miles approximately
distance traveled = 818 miles approximately

Answer: 818 miles (approximate)

Question 2: How many gallons are needed to drive 1,220 miles?
Round your answer to the nearest tenth of a gallon.

mpg = (distance traveled)/(number of gallons used)
(mpg rating)*(number of gallons) = distance
number of gallons = (distance)/(mpg rating)
number of gallons = (1220 miles)/(16.3636 mpg)
number of gallons = 74.5557
number of gallons = 74.6

Answer: 74.6 gallons (approximate)

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
you can solve this by using the miles per gallon formula or you can solve this by using the gallons per mile formula.

using the miles per gallon formula, you would do the following:
360 miles / 22 gallons = 16.36363636 miles per gallon.

using the gallons per mile formula, you would do the following:
22 gallons / 360 miles = .06111111 gallons per mile.

question 1 says how far can you travel on 50 gallons.
this calls for the miles per gallon formula.
you get 16.36363636 * 50 = 818.1181818 miles.

question 2 says how many gallons are needed to drive 1220 miles.
this calls for the gallons per mile formula.
you get .06111111 * 1220 = 74.55555556 gallons.
