You can
put this solution on YOUR website!
I bet you are trying to find the value of x and y.
we know that y=9-x
but,
x-y=7
so,
x-(9-x)=7
x-9+x=7
x+x-9=7
2x-9=7
2x-9+9=7+9
2x=16
x=8
Solving for y,
y=9-8=1
Thus, the equations are true if and only if x=8 and y=1
