You can put this solution on YOUR website! Factor: Look for a common factor in each of the three terms. You can rewrite this expression showing the prime factors of each term Notice that 2*3 appears in each of the three terms, so 2*3 is a common factor. so the 2*3 can be taken outside the parentheses, thus: but since the 2*3 = 6, so you can replace it. this is then factored.
To check the answer, you would apply the "distributive property": =
