divide both sides of the inequality by .08 to get:
x > 250 / .08.
solve for x to get:
x > 3125.

when the sale price of the car is equal to 3125, either option will be equally attractive.
when the sale price is less than 3125, the 250 will be more attractive.
examples:
sale price of car is 3000.
sales commission is.08 * 3000 = 240 which is less than 250.
sale price of car is 3125.
sales commission is .08 * 3125 = 250 which is the same as 250.
