Let x = the number of gallons required to drive 518 miles. Then you can write:
370%2F10+=+518%2Fx
x+=+5180%2F370
x+=+14gallons.
2) If 10 gallons are required to drive 370 miles, then the gas consumption is 370%2F10+=+37mpg
To drive 518 miles you would need 518%2F37+=+14 gallons.
