You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Cliff, 1%2Fx
Marco, 2%2Fx
The rate for each alone

Rate together, 1%2F5=1%2Fx%2B2%2Fx-----------simplify and solve.

x=15

Marco can build a laptop twice as fast as Cliff. Working together, it takes them 5 hours. How long would it have taken Marco working alone?
Let time Marco takes, alone, be M
Then time Cliff takes, alone, = 2M
Therefore, Marco can do 1%2FM of job in 1 hour, while Cliff can do 1%2F%282M%29 of job in 1 hour
With both taking 5 hours to do entire job, working together, we get: matrix%281%2C3%2C+1%2FM+%2B+1%2F%282M%29%2C+%22=%22%2C+1%2F5%29
                                                                      10 + 5 = 2M ------ Multipluing by LCD, 10M
                                                                          15 = 2M
                             Time Marco takes, doing entire job alone, or
