Question 1198326: Your friend has chosen at random a card from a standard deck of 52 cards
but keeps this card concealed. You have to guess what card it is. Before
doing so, you can ask your friend either the question whether the chosen
card is red or the question whether the card is the ace of spades. Your
friend will answer truthfully. What question would you ask? Your question

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
If you asked "is the card the ace of spades?", then there's a 1/52 chance of him or her saying "yes".
It's fairly likely the card is something else. If the friend says "no", then there's not much other info you can rely on to guess this card.
A much better question would be "is the card red?" because it greatly narrows down the sample space.
If they say "yes", then you focus on the hearts and diamonds.
If they say "no", then focus on the spades and clubs.
Either way, we go from 52 cards to 52/2 = 26 cards in the sample space.
