Clear of fractions by multiplying by
2 on the left and 2%2F1 on the right:

%282%29D = %282%2F1%29%28m%2Bw%29%2F2

Cancel the 2's on the right:

2D = %28cross%282%29%2F1%29%28m%2Bw%29%2Fcross%282%29    

2D = m%2Bw

Subtract w from both sides

2D-w = m

or if you prefer:

m = 2D-w
