Question 1197520: When I see a question like this:8(6+7) I don't understand. What am I supposed to do? I can understand 8+(6+7) or 8/(6+7) but there is no symbol between the 8 and the (6+7) so I am lost.

When you do not see a sign of arithmetic operation between two expressions, it means that this sign is omitted
and that the omitted sign is the multiplication sign.
It is the rule, traditionally accepted in Math from the earliest steps of learning.
It is not a fault of writing.
If you don't know this rule, it is only because nobody taught you this rule at the time when it should be done.
The responsibility on correct writing lies on the writer.
The responsibility on correct reading lies on the reader.
The responsibility on finding/checking errors lie on both.

You can put this solution on YOUR website! It is multiplication, I don't know why it is that way just is. So, it actually is 8*(6+7) and that is 108, if my math is correct.

8(6+7) = 8*6 + 8*7 = 48 + 56 = 104

When two expressions are next to each other with no operator symbol between, the universal convention is that the operation is multiplication.
"xy" means x times y
8(6+7) means 8 times (6+7), which is 8 times 13, which is 104
