A truck with a heavy load drove from Boston to New York at 45 mph. After unloading, it returned to Boston
at a speed of 65mph. What was it's average speed for the whole trip?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
For the average speed of the round trip (when the distances of both parts of the trip
are the same) use the formula
    average speed = %282%2Au%2Av%29%2F%28u%2Bv%29 = %282%2A45%2A65%29%2F%2845+%2B+65%29 = 5850%2F110 = 53.182 mph  (rounded).    ANSWER
Solved.
Avg speed of a RT = 2%2Av%5B1%5D%2Av%5B2%5D%2F%28v%5B1%5D%2Bv%5B2%5D%29
= 2*45*65/(110) mi/hr
