Question 1197025: 1.Each of the four children Dino, Sonny, Nikko, and Xian, holds a different object (fan, car, dart, and slime).
From the following clues, determine who owns which object.

N2 was solved in my previous post under this link

N3 is solved below.

From the condition, we have two equations

    V + R = 57     (1)    ("the sum of their ages is 57")

    V = 4*R + 2    (2)    ("When Vince’s age is divided by Raven’s age")

From equation (1), express R = 57 - V and substitute it into equation (1). You will get

    V = 4*(57-V) + 2.

Simplify and find V

    V = 4*57 - 4V + 2

    V + 4V = 4*57 + 2

      5V   =   230

       V   =   230/5 = 46.

ANSWER. Vince is 46 years old. Raven is 57-46 = 11 years old.

Solved.
