                        Solution

Use the fact that for any real value of x in the interval [0,1]

    arcsin(x) + arccos(x) = pi%2F2


Which is clear from consideration of a right angled triangle with the hypotenuse of 1 and one leg of x.


In particular, for x = 1/8 we have 

    arcsin(1/8) + arccos(1/8) = pi%2F2.    ANSWER
