Question 1195853: A circular cylinder having a length of 12 m has a radius of 3 m. If a wedge is cut from the cylinder by two planes, one perpendicular to the axis of the cylinder and the other passing through a diameter of the section made by the first plane and inclined to this plane at an angle of 45°. .

For this special case,  use the formula for the volume of cylindrical wedge

        V = %282%2F3%29%2Ar%5E3%2Atan%28angle%29 = %282%2F3%29%2A3%5E3%2A1 = 2*9 = 18 m^3.

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Vol. of Cylindrical Wedge = (2/3) (r^3)(tan(angle))
= (2/3) (3^3)(tan(45))
=18 m^3
