-e/4=1-d
e/4=d-1 now replace e/4 by (1-d) in the other equation.
3d+(d-1)=d+1/2
3d+d-1=d+.5
3d+d-d=1+.5
3d=1.5
d=1.5/3
d=.5 answer.
e/4=.5-1
e/4=-.5
e=4*-.5
e=-2 answer.

.5+.5=1
1=1
