You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Area=bh
b=2h+1
Area is therefore (2h+1)*h=2h^2+h=55
so 2h^2+h-55=0
(2h+11)(h-5)=0
h=5 cm only positive root
b=11 cm

The area of a parallelogram is 55cm. If the base is 1m greater than twice the height, find the base and the height.

First,  the area is not measured in centimeters  (cm).  It is measured in square centimeters  (cm^2).

Second note is that the solution by @Boreal does not correspond to the written post,
where meters and centimeters are carelessly mixed.
