i tried putting it into a proportion and wrote:3/4=X/4.....and solved it and i got the answer X=3
is that the right way to solve this problem? Answer by MaxLiebling(13) (Show Source):
You can put this solution on YOUR website! Brian and three friends bought 3/4 pound of candy.
4 persons bought 3/4 pound of candy.
If they split the candy equally... every person gets a fourth of 3/4 pound of candy.
(3/4 pound of candy) / 4 = 3/16 pound of candy
