The older child gets 1/2 of the remaining 1/2, or 1/4, leaving 1/4 as a remainder.

The younger child gets 1/2 of the remaining 1/4, or 1/8, leaving 1/8 as a remainder.

The two cousins split the remaining 1/8, each getting 1/16.
