Question 119058This question is from textbook Prentice Hall Pre-Algebra California Edition
: Profit Jalisha invested some money and made an 8% profit. The current value of her investment is $1,308. How much did she invest initially?
Can you help me with this problem. The equation that I came up with is:
m x 82% = $1,308
m x 82/100 = 1,308/1
82m = 130,800
m = $1,595.12

You can put this solution on YOUR website! Profit Jalisha invested some money and made an 8% profit. The current value of her investment is $1,308. How much did she invest initially?
---------------------
Let the initial investment be "x" dollars.
--------
EQUATION:
x + 0.08x = 1308
1.08x = 1308
x = $1,211.11
